Day 282 - N is for Nice Newbie

It is Newbie's Picture-Of-The-Day because it is a N day. Newbie has been with us for 3 years. He was a stray kitten when we took him into our house. His mom and dad and his grandparents were a stray family that have been in our neighborhood for a number of years. Over those years the neighbors and us have captured most of the kittens, had them neutered and then found them homes. We were unable to capture the mom and dad until three years ago right after Newbie was born. We had captured his brothers and sisters, neutered them and found them homes. But Newbie was shy and was hiding while we captured his brothers and sisters. When he showed up and we captured him, there were no more homes for stray kittens. So we released him back into the wild. But he was scared of lightning and thunder along with other things. So he hung around our house. After a few days we decided to adopt him. Our older cat Princess was not happy, but we did not think he would survive the winter. He is so happy to be inside that he will not go outside anymore. He will walk to the open door, look out, then stay inside and look at you saying, "Been there, done that!"

This Picture of the day is part of the Picture-Of-The-Day project, taking a picture a day and posting it. Today's picture is also part of the A to Z challenge in the 365 Project. Yesterday was the M day so I did myself, today is Newbie's day. I will get the rest of the family in the this challenge.

I like the way his eyes are super sharp and the zoom effect pulls you right into them. Cool shot!
