While I was waiting for the Starlings to return, I watched this female House Sparrow, swoop in, land and in the same movement, rip a piece of leaf of a Dandelion plant. She sat there chewing it in her beak. I was very curious as to whether she was going to eat it, or use it in her nest? However I never found out, as the Starlings returned and chased her away.
