HIDING IN THE NEEDLES by markp

HIDING IN THE NEEDLES

The United Kingdom's, smallest bird a Goldcrest, in the garden. To give you some sense of just how small these are, the pine needles look thicker than it's beak.

Great shot, we have Goldcrests in our very tall mature fir tree but so far I have not been able to get a picture

@colinbarber013 Thanks Colin. Try sprinkling a small amount of Atora Suet regularly on a couple of the lower branches, once they find it, they will return looking for it. Once you get them more on your level, they can be surprisingly approachable. At times I have been able to get within twelve inches of them, too close to photograph.

I didn't use that trick today, but I have in the past.

Awesome photo. I really like it. Could almost be a decoration on a Xmas tree, but he does look too real of course!
