MUDDY MAYHEM by markp

MUDDY MAYHEM

It's half term holidays so Grandmonster Willow came with me to take some photographs. She fed the Swans, geese, ducks, gulls and pigeons, while I took pictures and tried to make sure she did not throw herself into the canal with her enthusiastic bread throwing. Then we took a walk along the banks of the River Mersey, crossed a bridge and returned alongside the canal. The path here was much wetter and as she had wellies on she was soon jumping up and down in the puddles. The puddles got muddier as we walked down, but she enjoyed herself. I put her in the car on a blanket and as I drove home she inspected the damage, her coat was dirty, and her pants were black right up to mid-thiigh. She took all this in and then looked up at me and said " Granddad, you need to hide me from Mummy and Daddy". She was okay, she was with me so they expected her to be slightly mucky.
Love the picture and love your story. That's one lucky grandmonster! Know she had such a fun day with you. Glad you recorded it.

Lovely shot :) I love to see parents and grandparents allowing children to jump in puddles and get covered in mud as so many people don't allow it nowadays!

@milaniet @cailts @darylo @cljs @wanabe @plainjaneandnononsense @barbarajdonnellan @tuya @roachling @alia_801 @nanalisarocks @ragnhildmorland Thank you all very much for taking the time to view and leaving all your wonderful comments and Favs. Her coat is now clean, it washed quite nicely.

@darylo Thank you very very much Daryl, don't know what to say over your " best shot EVER" comment, apart from THANK YOU ! I have reposted this shot 2 days later, I think it needed cropping a bit more.

@roachling Thanks Louise, thats what childhood is for, fun and getting dirty.

@markp It's just an instant smile-producing photo, with brilliant color, show stopping mud in mid-stomp and a joyful child/monster. It must be printed and framed. MUST! :)

@darylo Thank you very much Daryl, this was not prompted, this was Willow being Willow. I you seen my re-edit, I think it looks better than this one ? http://365project.org/markp/Alternatively/2014-02-22
