I thought I had chance of photographing Jays and Woodpeckers here, at Risley Moss, outside Warrington today. However the only Jay to appear stayed a long way off, and only the female Great Spotted Woodpecker came close enough to shoot.
At one time there were two woodpeckers together, so she might have a partner, but I couldn't identify it as a Mr or as an other Mrs.
