GARLIC HOVERFLY by markp

GARLIC HOVERFLY

An unidentified species of Hoverfly enjoying his tea from a Herb Garlic flower. If you wish to take a closer look, you will see a little white " lollipop" just above his middle knee. This is called a Haltere and is a balance organ and acts like a " gyroscope" during flight, clever little bug.
Main album, my ONS shot.

@gardencat Thank you very much Joanne, expect a few more lessons, I have found a really interesting and helpful site to identify them, with a very easy way to sex them. Lol.
