I have always thought that the now disused power station, was a distraction in images of the Mersey Gateway from this direction. With the recent announcement that the power station is to be demolished and a massive housing estate will replace it, I had better get a few more shots before it finally vanishes as a local landmark.
the housing estate could be more of a distraction. There used to be so many of these cooling towers along the M6 route north and Im sure most of them have disappeared. Hard to believe that one would ever get nostalgic about them but they have a certain style and indicate an era and may well be missed?
