How dry I am... by marlboromaam

How dry I am...

What's left of my brown-eyed susans, dried up in the heat and lack of rain. Touch one and it crumbles into dust! Amazing how dry it is. Just couldn't resist adding this little vid - back when cartoons were still hand drawn and so very cool! @Cromwell, you'll appreciate and enjoy this one - I think! LOL! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQhjjYFWlrM

Uploading a day early again. Too many other things to do and I fear I will get behind again!

Just 30 more!
Kim
Wonderful focus!

Still pretty, great clarity
July 28th, 2012
I watched and enjoed the video, lol .... @cromwell ....
July 28th, 2012
Sniffles was the bomb! Too bad the Cartoon Network shows such crap like SpongeBob that kids today have no clue. I've made it my duty to introduce all the classics to my grandkids. They know who Foghorn Leghorn, Abbott & Costello, Stan & Ollie, and Cagney & Bogart are and are now hipper than most of their generation.
July 28th, 2012
Beautiful shot! and the cartoon I do remember seeing in reruns but I remember it. I loved those old cartoons! @cromwell I miss Foghorn Leghorn - Ah Saay!
July 28th, 2012

@cromwell I detest sponge Bob! My kids are kind of sheltered on the tv front, but old school cartoons were well drawn and clever!
July 28th, 2012
Wow.
July 28th, 2012
Great shot and focus. The drought is bad here too. The Black Eyed Susans are surprisingly alive. However, the native cone flowers have dried up.

July 28th, 2012
Oh wow, it does look very dry! Crumbling into dust at the slightest touch, that sounds incredible. (A little different over here with high humidity. Things get dry... and then moldy.) A great shot, the details and textures are clearly captured! 8)
July 28th, 2012
It looks incredibly disintegrated

I love your title as it reminds me of a cute song. Did not click on you you tube link yet. Sad that so much suffered in the dry and heat. Beautiful photo, Maggie.
July 28th, 2012
@darsphotos LOL! You'll hear the song and much more when you click on the link. Thank you, Darlene! Grateful for your kind comments, as always!
July 28th, 2012
@marlboromaam I love this cartoon, Maggie. My husband remembers it and watched it with me. Too funny. This is about how I feel between my medication and this infection. Changing my medication though as it is making my stomach sick. Thanks for the laugh and the link. May spend some time looking at other cartoons after a long nap. Hope all is going well there. Hugs!!
July 28th, 2012
@darsphotos LOL! Glad you enjoyed it! Hope you feel better soon! Hugs right backatcha!
July 28th, 2012
@marlboromaam You have such a gift to make others laugh and enjoy life as it happens. I do not always have time to click on links but have certainly enjoyed yours. You do this perfectly. I wish I had you knack to attach the perfect songs or like this a funny cartoon. Learning a lot from you and appreciating what you post. If that makes sense. So rummy.

Poor things. Mine have not bloomed yet. It makes for interesting texture and tones. My blackberries are starting to look like this. Nice shot.
July 30th, 2012
omg........I thought our flowers were dry, but this is crazy dry!
July 30th, 2012
Lyn
Oh, no, Maggie. . .have you just had NO rain?? We have at least gotten enough to keep some of my flowers alive. . .but this is a WONDERFUL shot.
July 30th, 2012
What a great shot - sad but great!
July 30th, 2012
@pammerritt Thank you so much, Pam! I hope you got some blackberries before they started to dry up!

@paulaag LOL! It's been pretty dry summers for a while now, Paula. I can't waste well water on watering the plants with our rainfall deficit.

@lyno Aww! Thank you, Lynn! Really appreciate your kind comments and visit!

@lindag Thank you, Linda! It is what it is.
July 30th, 2012
Dry dead flowers often make interesting subjects, but it's nice if they don't crumble to dust! I can see you wouldn't want to use up precious well water on them though.
Love the cartoon!
