The stems look like cactus so it might be something to do with those! Great focus! I do enjoy having a browse to learn something but in this case, found some amazing photos but not of your plant!

@maggiemae I found out what this is... It's NON-NATIVE, from South America. Common names are "Tampweed" or "Fluffweed." Perfect names!
