Surprise!

I sat down in the grass to get a shot of the seed heads clumped together... I thought the wind and the rain tangled them. My eye sight is getting pretty bad. Then I zoomed in and saw this spider. Don't know what kind it is, so if you do - HOLLER! I've never seen one like it before.

Well, the spider ID web folks have identified this as a "brown widow." Latrodectus geometricus and yes, it's venom is neurotoxic and I sat down right next to it. God was most definitely looking out for me.
