What's in your backyard? by marlboromaam

What's in your backyard?

Just a few things here... The purple martin house that no purple martin has ever nested in. But raspberry finches, and bluebirds have nested in it... the sock feeders full of thistle seeds for the goldfinches, who aren't interested in it this time of year... and the bird bath that I clean almost daily and refill with fresh cold water, especially for my bluebirds who are too happy to bathe in it. The other seed feeders are hanging on a pole to the left of the sock feeder, but are hidden by part of the deck.

Shot in black and white - NO conversion here.
Looks like the penthouse suites. good shot, hope they move in soon.

@sarasdadandmom Aww! Thank you, Terry! I think it's too close to the woods to attract the purple martins and the post is set in concrete, so I can't move it. Oh well!

@cimes1 Thank you very much, Carole! Really appreciate your kind remarks!

@cromwell Thank you, Cromwell! I really appreciate that coming from you. =)

@glb484 What sweet comments! Thank you so much, Gina!

@yonnie Thank you, Yvonne! I do as long as I keep the feeders full and the bird bath full of fresh water. =)

That is such a high post... A sweet birds house.
August 9th, 2012
Perhaps if you painted that lovely birdhouse purple it would attract them! It is certainly too high for cats to climb! What about those tree rats that annoy you so? The trellis makes a good edge!
August 9th, 2012
@kerristephens Thank you, Kerri!

@sugarmuser It has to be high for purple martins. Thank you, Sharon!

@maggiemae LOL! That's a good thought, Maggiemae! No cats or tree rats can climb that metal pole. Ha ha! Thank you for your comments!
