From my archives of September 2011...

This huge old loblolly pine was cut down after the hurricane of 2015 which left most of South Carolina under water - the famous rain train that left 23 inches in 18 hours. It was only 10 feet away from the house. I was lucky it didn't fall in the winds and hit the house. It was a beautiful old pine and I miss it, but it had to go for safety sake.
I understand, but sad.

@larrysphotos Thanks, Larry! I do miss it. But it really would have crushed my little home like a match box under an 18-wheeler tire.

It must have been a tough choice.

It does appear to be rather tall and dangerous. Always sad when they have to go.

@kwind Was a big one!

@joysabin After seeing all the ones that fell, it wasn't too hard.

@ludwigsdiana Agreed!

@kvphoto It was huge. The tree guy said 75 feet, but I think it was taller. Couldn't wrap your arms around it and still touch your fingers.
