Camellia...

There have been many more blooms this year, but they have been much smaller than last year. Perhaps the bush exerts the same amount of energy to produce fewer giant blooms as it does to produce a lot of smaller ones. Just guessing.

Thank you, Milanie! These single whites and pinks will finish blooming around the end of this month. I have a double hot pink one that will begin to bloom in December through January as long as the frost doesn't get them too bad. I have a pic of this one blooming in the snow somewhere in my albums. I also have another variety of doubles that's pale pink which will bloom in February or March too.

Very lovely. This would make a perfect reference photo for a painting :) i painted some white flowers a while ago. It isn't easy.
