Not a wildflower... by marlboromaam

Not a wildflower...

My confederate jasmine vine (or star jasmine) has struggled to come back since it was torn out and trampled when they replaced my deck about five years ago. It's a lovely little pinwheel-shaped white blossom with a very strong sweet scent. The scent is not as subtle as the wild yellow jasmine with its trumpet-shaped flowers which I prefer to smell. What I'm catching whiffs of in the air at the moment is passion flower (got to find them) and the tea olive is budding too.
Sounds wonderful. I love Confederate jasmine.

Spkendid flower. I stole a small branch from a bush at a hotel, trying to get my own plant. It didn't work...

This looked very familiar to me so I was surprised I hadn’t found this at the greenhouse. It’s in a very big “family” —

What a beautiful and unique flower. Hope it can make a come-back.

@rhoing Beautiful shots, Thom! I am more familiar with the wild than the nursery plants and this was bought at Lowes garden center years ago. It's just now beginning to take hold again. I thought I lost it for good.

A unique looking flower. I've not heard of Confederate Jasmine before. I hope that your plant goes from strength to strength.

@salza Thank you, Sally! I think we're more familiar with plants that thrive in our own climates than in others.

How unusual!

@wakelys I don't think it's common in places with colder winters.

@milaniet Not so unusual around here. =)

@kvphoto Thanks, KV! The scent of this one is a little too strong for me. I prefer the scent of the yellow jasmine. It's not so heavy.
