CW For this week's Get Pushed challenge my partner, @katiebrenkert, asked me to play with leading lines.

I am a fan of the strong line, but up to now haven't been especially deliberate in its usage. Here is my first attempt, a mash up between a motion shot & leading lines.

My intention is that the lines caused by motion & the painted arrow like lines on the street send the viewer's eye back to the ghostly figure in black. Is it working?

I also posted an outtake with much more obvious leading line stuff going on, but I liked the whimsy of this shot.

Here's the outtake:

First I saw the runner and pillars/yellow line in the middle right of the picture. Then the white blur. Much later the ghostly figure. For me colour was the first what draw me, then the lines. I really like this shot, intriguing, a fave!

I like your idea tons but I get slightly hung up on the bright red. its where my eye goes to first. I wonder if he was more in the lower right corner if it would work a little better? Or, if the guy in teh black was right at the corner where the crosswalks converge? I do love how you used the motion blur to achieve lines! so creative!!! I keep looking at this shot and see so many possibilities with it. Nice job!

@katiebrenkert I see what you mean. I wonder if I could do more to bring out the arrow on the right hand side (grey pavement in the space between the lines.) And darken the figure in the background too, hmm...

This is great and very artistic! Love the blur. My challenge for you this week is to explore negative space, does that work for you?
