Our walk today was in Staploe and Duloe. It was mainky on narrow country roads bordered by hedges. We rounded one corner and came across a lovely view across the fields of this beautiful thatched cottage.
It is said that the best way to appreciate a thatched cottage is to live opposite.
Great shot and a Fav. I grew up in a thatched cottage in Roxton and I also used to cycle around Duloe and Staploe. I must revisit as I don't live that far away - in Willington, Bedfordshire. It might be nice to meet up sometime.
@rosiekind We were in Willington at the weekend. Great dovecotes and lovely walks. Thanks for your comnent and the follow. I look forward to following you back.
We just got a new roof, thank goodness! Ours was leaking! But this roof is so unique and from a distance looks like felt or boiled wool! It is very cool indeed! They do not have this in the USA. FAV!
@mave Me too! I need to plan a visit to see the UK and Europe! I have not been since 1976 (Germany, Austria, Belgium) because as much as I appreciated it then, I would appreciate it so much more now!
