Letting Go

PURE LOVE
It may be possible to love
a man or a woman
too much.
But heaven knows,
never a rose.

Still catching up with December's photos. Some blooms still hanging on stubbornly, daring me to prune the bush, in spite of them.
oh my, really this capture is stunning - I've been having trouble getting the light right on my roses. This is just so beautiful, quite breathtaking! fav

Really nicely done! Love that you're able to see the outer petal colors as well as the beautiful lighter inner colors. Great focus - each petal so distinct. Fav

@koalagardens Thank you. This one was taken if full shade after the sun had gone to the backyard casting a shadow on the front of the house. Chances are (without having seen your flower shots) that you have been taking them in full sun, which has left you with difficult shadows to contend with. You can work around that by taking your flower pictures on a cloudy day, which will help deal with that extreme contrast. Or by shooting them in the shade. Or waiting till the sun is low and shooting from the direction of the sun. Or you can try using a flash for a fill light. Or using a reflector to fill the dark spaces with reflective light. If contrast was the problem, one of those ideas might help.

@danette @louannwarren Thank you both. Glad you enjoyed this photo. It is one of the most photogenic roses, I think.

@milaniet Thank you. Those are the reasons why I particularly enjoy this rose. Highly photogenic. Each blossom is different from the others and changes as it blooms.
