Horse chestnut by mcsiegle

Horse chestnut

Frank had the camera with him out of town for a few days, so I just took pictures with my iPod. I liked the looks of the leaves on a horse chestnut tree as the colors turn from the edges inward.

A couple of weeks ago I hauled a bunch of the big nuts home, thinking to photograph then give to squirrels. I found out they are not any type of chestnut. They are more related to the Ohio Buckeye and they are poisonous -- even the squirrels won't eat them. No wonder so many beautiful perfect ones were lying on the ground. I did take a few pictures and finally ended up throwing them away in the trash. I didn't want to haul them back to the tree on campus, but don't want them sprouting in my yard. It was a learning experience, anyway!
Mary, this is beautiful. Love the detail.

@susanalena Thanks, Susan. Aren't the great. I'd never paid any attention to them before.

Nice patterns on the leaves Mary . I like the way you have used the main leave in the centre.

HI Mary! I am your get pushed partner for this week. I looked thru and did very much enjoy all of your uploads. I really like the collages that you have posted. My push for you is to do a collage in the likeness of these

Neat POV! Thanks for the info as well.

@livvy Thanks! I'm looking forward to tackling that challenge -- but I'm not sure if you want a specific theme to the photos I use in the collage (similar to the two examples you found in my album) -- or a particular style of collage...? Let me know any specifics you want me to stick to.

@mcsiegle I think I would call them abstract. Not really any style or theme...just asking you to inspire with awe as you did in the two examples.
