Metalsmith's Handiwork by mcsiegle

Metalsmith's Handiwork

Frank, Dan, and I went to the Kansas City Crypticon (horror movie convention) for the one day on Saturday. I can't believe I took very, very few photos, and only this one picture of someone in costume. I'll have to make up for that in October when we go up to the Crypticon in Minnesota for the whole weekend. This young woman and another were wearing the handiwork of a man who makes chain mail and costumes such as this. Two years ago a posted a couple of photos of his display (highly processed - ETSOOI to the max):

I don't know why I didn't take more pictures this year. Last year was a completely different story. The Allosaurus came with me and posed at lots of booths, waving at everyone who came past. We got to meet and have our (mostly his) picture taken with some very friendly vendors there.

I did the selective color only because I didn't take much time to think about background when I asked if I could snap her picture and I wanted her to stand out from the distraction.
Fascinating! I don't know what to make of it yet, but my immediate reactions is Fav.!

Super capture, the contrasts between color and B&W, between glamour-in-focus and not-so-glamorous blurred. Love it!
