Hi! We're get-pushed partners for this week. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to try for some bokeh this week. I don't think you can get it with your iPod, but you should be able to achieve some with your Coolpix. Here is an article on how to do it using your macro setting: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-get-blurry-backgrounds-with-a-point-and-shoot/
Here's a manual for your Coolpix http://www.2cameraguys.com/pdf/Nikon-COOLPIX-S9900-camera-manual.pdf
... on pdf page 209 it shows your focal distance, which in the macro mode shows you can focus as close as 1/2 inch! The manual also explains a bit about setting your camera to use the A or aperture setting (on pdf page 57 or manual page 33), which is another way to achieve the bokeh effect.
Here's another article that might be helpful if you are going to try using your A setting: https://www.nikonusa.com/en/learn-and-explore/a/tips-and-techniques/bokeh-for-beginners.html
The key is distance between your subject and your background. You may have to play a bit, but with the holiday season approaching, I thought you might have some fun playing with achieving bokeh.
If this doesn't work and you'd prefer a different challenge, please let me know and I'll come up with something else.
Thanks, April. That's a good challenge. Usually when I get bokeh it's by accident so it will be useful to try to produce that on purpose. Thank you also for all the info and links you've provided. Wow. I'll get you a challenge soon.
