Wildlife?

For my get pushed challenge, Tim said “Since this is wild month, why don't you photograph wildlife?”

I know, I know...I’m not tagging it for the challenge, but the thought did cross my mind when I came across this young woman in a hammock and a young man standing next to her up in a big sycamore tree on campus. I stopped to talk to them and snapped a couple of pictures. It’s not a very good shot — hard to see what I’m getting with the glare on the phone screen. He was only partially in the frame so I cropped him completely out.

If you have editing software, you could probably make the subject brighter. In Photoshop elements, you can use a guided edit in the Lighten and Darken tool. Choose "brighten shadows."

@tdaug80 I don't have PS Elements. I used to -- it was an old version that came free with a printer or scanner I used to have, but with my Mac's operating system updates it finally wouldn't work anymore. I've taken this one into Picmonkey and let it auto adjust the exposure. I also slightlly adjusted the "clarity" setting under Sharpen. What do you think? Better? It's still just an iPhone 6 shot, but I think your suggestion to brighten the exposure was a good one.

@mcsiegle This is much better. I'm really impressed what editing software can do. I had scanned a bunch of old family photos where my dad liked to put people under the shade of a tree on a sunny day. PSE was able to bring my mother and grandmother out of the shadows and into the light.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Sorry, Jackie -- delayed reaction. They were just having fun up in the tree on campus -- not really camping. When I came back out of a nearby building ten or fifteen minutes later, they and the hammock were gone.
