Finally getting around to sharing my experiment from May — inspired by Katy @grammyn who began a Half and Half May with diagonals. While I was doing my usual vertical and horizontal Half and Half pics, I started playing around in my “Experiments” album — marking all the photos, as I posted them, as restricted so I could keep rearranging the monthly view until I liked it. It’s been marinating for a while and I figure it’s time to share the result.
Maybe at some point I’ll post a screen print. If you go backward from there to the April monthly view you’ll find another experiment with the diagonal patchwork construction. It’s more constrained and uses pattern and repetition and fewer different images. I don’t like it as well, but it was worth experimenting.
Postscript: Hmmm...I see that, although I renamed that album “Experiments,” the URL is still set as “monthly-views” — its previous title, which corresponds to its original purpose. The first experiment (since abandoned) used some previous months to try to devise an easier way of skimming through past years.
Oh - I love your calendar view and I wish I could FAV it! Your precision with each day meeting the next is perfect!
Very well done and you should make a calendar view shot for us to FAV and therefore keep in our Favorites.
That made a really nice month. Quite an undertaking. If we have a half and half month again, I hope I remember to do at least some diagonals. Love the colors in the sky also.
@grammyn I figured since you were the inspiration for this I ought to tag you in case you drop in on 365 for a break in your studies and other commitments.
@farmreporter@jacqbb@randystreat@shutterbug49@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you so much for taking the time to check out the monthly view art piece and comment on my experiment. When I get around to taking a screen print of that monthly view, I’ll tag you to let you know.
Very well done and you should make a calendar view shot for us to FAV and therefore keep in our Favorites.
