Zoom burst

Tim @tdaug80 challenged me to work with a 5 second exposure—in a move calculated, in part, to force me to use my DSLR camera. He gave me a link to some ideas, which I read. But there were a couple of things I had been wanting to try. Zoom burst is one of them.

It took some experimentation last night, but I ended up with this, which I’m pleased with. I’m posting it and another one of the earlier trials. Now I’ve read an article which lays out a way to ensure a good focus on the central subject. So I may try the technique again a bit later, to see how sharp I am able to get it.
@tdaug80 Even though I again did my challenge late in the evening, I had some fun with it.

This is something I cannot do with my camera and I am always in all of the results when someone post a photo. I love the colors and excellent sense of motion

I like the portrait of someone (your son?) in the center that's still enough in focus to make it out.

@randystreat Thanks, Kathy! Yes, that’s Dan. Let me know what you think of my second attempt at the same thing, that I posted today in my Alternates album.
