Bokeh while waiting for Johnny Kaw by mcsiegle

Bokeh while waiting for Johnny Kaw

At the city park, while I was waiting for the sun to start going down so I could take pictures of the Johnny Kaw statue that has been trucked up for Christmas with a Santa hat and Christmas lights wound around his scythe.
@aecasey I started in my back yard, aiming at leaves and stuff. Incredibly boring. Then I went to the park. While waiting to take pictures of Johnny Kaw and get bokeh off of that, I took this picture looking closeup through the crook of a tree. Still a bit boring, but I'm gonna remember to go in search of flowers and other more colorful things come spring.

Well done! I love how you played with this challenge. This is wonderful natural bokeh, and really adds to the contrast in textures between the bark and the background. I love your use of the strong diagonal line too. I don't think it's boring at all ... the tones may be subdued, but the lines, textures, and abstract feel really draw me in.

This really draws you in to wondering what is beyond through the trees. Great use of bokeh to add intrigue to a photo.

There is a liquid effect here that is very appealing.
