What is the first thing one should pack in the car for the Journey north to SweetWood? A big bag of cardboard tubes — used toilet paper and paper towel roll tubes, of course!
They are for the anti tick strategy our friend Delta has hit on. Cotton impregnated with whatever the solution is that kills ticks but not the mice whose nests are where they are harbored and breed (if I have this right) So she stuffs the tubes with the cotton and places the tubes throughout the woods where the mice can find them and carry the cotton back to their nest. It’s a win-win situation — and SweetWood has had far fewer deer ticks (carriers of Lymes disease) since she started.
Oh, yeah, took the silly photo to count for half and half and also toward my get pushed challenge from Jackie to use the theme Journey (since she knew I was trekking north to WI.
