we wild camped on top of the cote de Buttertubs last night.
as seen on Le tour de France!!. It is said that these chambers are so called because the farmers used bring the butter up the night before market day and put in here to keep it cool, and would pick it up the next day as they passed over to Hawes market. some are as much as 20 metres deep

@pennystot mainly it is like it was on the telly, but this is just over the top of the hill, and there are only three all about this size. the other shots were of the enclosed ones and turned out to dark
