Colourful Crocuses by susiemc

Colourful Crocuses

Today started out well but soon became grey and gloomy. This is a photo I took yesterday. (crocuses don't open out on gloomy days). There isn't a lot of colour in the garden yet but the crocuses in front of the house are amazing.
Looks like a pretty display - hopefully the daffodils will not be far behind

@virtualbrownie The daffodils are actually beginning to show a bit of colour.

Beautiful, the stripy ones are my favourite, we have a garden in our village full of crocus' and they look stunning.

They're lovely, it's such a shame that they don't last long..

Funny how colours will chime in nature ... but you'd never pick them for a frock! This is lovely.

@yogisue They usually last quite a long time as long as we don't get a heat wave. It's generally much cooler here than it is where you are and that makes a big difference. The daffodils are waiting in the wings!

@pamelaclarke I never really thought about it like that but you're absolutely right.

We really must go and get some crocii soon . The ones on the verges by us are just amazing as it has been a sunny couple of days . We haven't actually got any in the garden , very re-miss of us !!

@lynne53 Yes you must. They're stunning at this time of year. Chris gets cross because even on a good day they've closed up by the time he gets home. They really are very sensitive to sun. He's looking forward to seeing them on Saturday!
