Hayricks by megpicatilly

Hayricks

Back in June, I took two photos of the wild flower meadow here at Sissinghurst. Two months on, the meadow has been cut. The long stems have been scythed and draped over these hayricks which are traditionally used for drying out meadow hay after scything. This lets the seed fall and the dried hay can be given to animals. Hopefully the display of wild flowers will be as good next year as it was this year.
Lovely, late summer captured.

Love the story behind this, and the reference to your earlier shot when the wild flower meadow was so beautiful. Might have been good to put a link to that one.

@suesouthwood That would be a good idea - do you know how? Tried to right click and copy, but it hasn't worked!

@365anne Thank you Anne - would have preferred to take it when the light wasn't so strong!

@megpicatilly As far as I remember (I have done it once) you just go into the original image, click and copy the link then paste in the wording for the new one
