Sea Shell by megpicatilly

Sea Shell

Rye Harbour has a wonderful selection of shells lying on the beach especially when the tide is just going out. I love the blue tones from this mussel.

I am intrigued by the background to the shell. It looks like leaves, but I guess it is probably seaweed? I agree about the colour of the shell, lovely.

Great shot. I love photo's like this. As we walk around just looking straight ahead we miss so much. Well done for looking and seeing otherwise ignored beauty.
Looks great on the black background. Fav

I agree, mussel shells are fascinating. We've a platter of oyster shells on our mail box, they've been there for years. They've weathered very well; whilst their dark colours have been bleached to a subtle shade of the palest grey, during a recent cold spell, they all turned a deep rose pink! Almost back to their normal hue, although am hoping they'll go pink again, and I'll fulfill the photo opportunity.

@suesouthwood I think it was dried sea cabbage. There was a lot of it around!

@trevjk3 Thank you Trevor. I agree, we spend so much time looking ahead and sometimes we need to look up and down! Thank you for the fav.
