De La Warr pavilion (again!)

I am not good at knowing what makes a good black and white image, but the de la Warr pavilion, with its 1930s styling seemed to fit the bill!
i do enjoy B&W architectural captures, well done!!

Black and White suits that building, it makes it more noticeable somehow.

I love these Art Deco buildings.

@karvelis @claudiet @colinbarber013 Thank you. I think architecture suits black and white well, but I don't seem to have the right images for it!!

@megpicatilly oh i dont know, i think you really nailed it with this one. there is an almost film quality to this one and with the tonal values and contrast it reminds me of B&W's my father took in the late 60's and early 70's

Contrast, clear lines, interesting shapes, got all the b&w ingredients Catherine. Well captured.

Great bw image with a highkey look also

@karvelis Thank you. I really appreciate your comment - this being a 1930s building with its curves, perhaps makes a reasonable black and white.

@chillen Thank you. I never really know with black and white - thought this building might just do it!

@ziggy77 Thank you. The sky was quite grey at the time, so was able to give it the high key feel. Thank you for the fav too.

@megpicatilly sometimes I process a colour and black and white version of the same image to decide which looks better. In the end, if you like it b&w, stick with it and stuff the rest of us.
March 19th, 2017
@chillen I have got both, but the B & W does look better. Would I ever stuff the rest of you?!!!

Fantastic architecture shot! B&W really brings out the strong shapes and lines
March 19th, 2017
Think you got this right. Nice lines, nice contrast. Perfecto 😊

@blueace thank you. Never quite sure what makes a good b & w image!

@paul10 thank you Paul. Really struggle with black and white

I like this in B&W, the lines and curves are rather nice. Also nice tonal contrast. Good job. Does look rather nice on black too.

Cool lines and curves suits b &w

@dawnee thank you. Hoped this one would work in black and white

Fantastic shot Catherine. It works so well in b&w, as it emphasises the lines and curves. Fav

@suesouthwood thank you! And for the fav
I am not good at b & w but this seemed to work reasonably well

@megpicatilly I think a month of b&w did teach me something. There are some things that work well, and some that don't. Architecture generally seems to work well
March 19th, 2017
@suesouthwood yes you are right. Strong lines work well and architecture often has these
March 19th, 2017
Yes, b&w makes this a great picture.
March 20th, 2017
Definitely looks good in b/w
