I drive through here whenever I need to catch a train, but have never stopped to look in the churchyard or around the village. A rail crash, in 1865,is a significant event in the history of the village. Charles Dickens, who was on board, was affected by the incident for the rest of his life. The church dates back from the 12th century and is a Grade I listed building.
Lovely shot of Staplehurst, which is a place it is very easy to just drive through. In all the years I lived in Cranbrook, I don't think I ever visited the church.
