This necklace was in the birthday gift that I photographed a few days ago. It has taken me that long to get a semi (and I stress the semi) decent picture of it. Sparkly things are hard to photograph. lol.
I shot this using my camera's scene selection mode and edited using Pixlr's "Peter" effect.
Nikon Coolpix P100
ISO-400
Aperture 2.8
Exposure Time 1/25 sec
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my birthday with hot chocolate and maybe some cake. :)

Thanks Lisa! I've tried shooting every way I can think of almost: in the box, on a black table, on the arm of a brown chair with the sun hitting it, around my neck. Why I was able to get a semi decent focus after hanging the necklace around a doorknob, I have no idea.
@mej2011 I think it's beautiful! lovely composition and tones, great texture in the background too! I think this would also look great against a natural background with some bokeh :)
Any critiques? I know you shoot a lot of beautiful necklace photos...

Thanks! Maybe I'll just have to wait until I can get outside and try and figure something out....
