I went to a bird banding workshop today. I watched as Cardinals, Down Woodpeckers, Tufted Titmice and Carolina Chickadees were banded so that their habitat/migration patterns can be analyzed.
This was shot using my 55-200 Lens on Aperture Priority mode. Editing consisted of a small crop.
Oh, I also got to pet a male Downy Woodpecker and release a Carolina Chickadee!
@taffy
I understand, when I saw the first woodpecker hit the net I got a bit sad. However, the process is all very quick and the birds are not harmed in anyway.
Very interesting shot! We're paired for the get pushed challenge this week and I have browsed your album. It's seems obvious that your comfort zone is birds and small mammals so in the spirit of getting pushed I want to see a picture of a person or people. Doesn't have to be a portrait or even anyone that you know. Can be a crowd of people or someone's back...just make the photograph about the person/people.
Thanks so much everyone! This was definitely an exciting day for me!

Can you issue me a different challenge, as my last two challenges were portrait challenges.
Thanks so much for viewing, commenting and faving!
What kind of person do you think I am?! :)
Great! Thanks so much! I'll be issuing yours in a few moments.
Ha! Ha! Ha! I told you the format got all wonky. I still don't like it.
