This Way!

It's very rare that I see a Mockingbird in my yard and today I saw two! I guess the season of love is upon us.
Editing consisted of Photoshop Elements 12's Brightness/Contrast autofix and upping the exposure a smidge. Then a slight crop in Ribbet.
I have heard of mockingbirds but never seen one. Very cool and great shot

It's sunny today (well, it was), but it was cold. A few days ago temperatures were in the high 70s, today not even 50.

Thanks Mike! It's really interesting to me, to hear about what birds are or aren't seen in other parts of the world.

Yeah, sometimes the distortion makes a difference, sometimes not. I think it depends a lot on the quality of light you're getting that day. Because this one you can't even tell that's it shot through the window. But I think in the hummingbird shot, the window distortion is more responsible for the noise than the high ISO. I'm not sure what your cam's capabilities are, but I can shoot up to 2000 ISO and still have some pretty noise free shots. (if you look at my shots from the movie set, those are 6400 ISO and I still don't think noise is an issue in that case)

It was very cloudy today (where it was more sunny on this shot), so I realized that was going to come into play. I don't recall exactly what my ISO max is but I had it up to 1600 and those were REALLY grainy. Again, this was a first attempt, so I'll try and get it better looking in the future. According to Nikon's website my ISO capacities are 100-6400 or Hi1 (whatever that is) 12,800.
