I've added at least 50 owl statues to my collection over the last week and this is one of my favorites just because it's so different. I like how if you look in the center under the "nose" there is a space between the shells that makes it look like the owl's beak is open. That's what I see anyways.
Manual mode. 18-55 Lens. Editing consisted of Photoshop Elements 12's Toy Camera effect.
Excellent lighting. The high key lighting draws attention to the subtle non-white colored shell areas, the back lighting shows off the translucent areas near the eyes. Both the table covering on the left and wall's green and brown distract from the subject. Their colors are desaturated. Desaturating them more would reduce their impact. If you could move the owl and your camera 1 foot to the right and get a background of only window I think you'd have a stronger image.
