Editing consisted of a small crop in Photoscape. Manual mode 55-200 lens.
Any comments on focus would be greatly appreciated. Normally I use my LCD screen and live view to shoot any and everything. However, given the fact that I just charged my camera battery the day before yesterday and now the battery is dead again, I am realizing what a waste of energy that is so I am attempting to learn to use my viewfinder. This being the first photo focused and taken using the view finder. Taken today 3-27-15 regardless of what the EXIF info says.
It is a very good capture,with birds I try and focus on the eye with centre point focus, even though I have 9 focus points to use I only use the one that is near the eye. Also I try to get a close as possible a shutter speed equal to the length of the lens. I do like this shot I presume the bird is a type of Sparrow?

Thanks Martin! This is a Gold Finch, I'm sure of male or female. I will have to look again to see how many focus points I have or how to use them all.

I found a tutorial on youtube and changed my focus settings. I will give them a try tomorrow and see if they are better/worse.
