It looks like it's going to be a week of insects. Had difficulty to choose today's photo. It could have been the millipede that came in with the blackberries or the large orange spider with white spots on its back that spun a web between the rubbish bin and the compost bin and sat in the middle all afternoon. I chose the earwig that my son found in the pot that holds his shaving things! This is a male (the female's pincers are straight). Apparently he uses them to tuck his wings under his legs but he very rarely, if ever, flies.
This is the one bug that completely creeps me out - I haven't even tried to take a photo of one - but it is really interesting up close! just fabulous detail you've captured, and that red head is amazing!
omg this is crazy...reminds me of a co-worker who had one crawl into her ear...OMG that story would bring chills to your spine... oh my gosh...good one
