We travel from north to south Wales and back several times a year and over the years we have noticed the dramatic increase in the red kite population. This is thanks to the 24 hour protection of nests and regular feeding in Rhaeadr, mid Wales. Whilst we would be lucky to see one in this region and none anywhere else I have seen some as far north as Machynlleth and as far south as Brecon and today there were dozens circling above the road not far from the feeding station. There were buzzards and crows there too for and easy meal.
