Not quite a levee, but that line popped into my head when I saw this. We went to Pocantico Lake with the intention of my husband fishing and me taking photos. Pocantico Lake is a man-made lake (completed in 1916) on the Pocantico River and supposedly it has a normal surface area of 67 acres. From the height of the weeds and grass that's grown up around the edges of the lake, I'm guessing the lake was partially drained so they could do some construction work on the dam, and the recent dry spell wasn't helping the water level either.
