I thought my quest for wild irises might fail, as they've been doing some construction down by the river and the area where the irises are was all fenced off, but I found a small pond with a couple blooms. Granted, I had to make a path through weeds as tall as I am, but it was worth it. I've been trying for the past couple of years to find the irises at peak bloom, but I've always missed - last year I was just a couple days late and all the ones I found were withering.
