Getting To The Roses Before The Heat Did_DSC2830

We have very high temperatures forecast for the next four days (40 to 42 degrees Celsius). The heat decimates my roses, so I decided to pick a big bunch to bring inside.
I thought they made a lovely colourful display, for feb16words roses and colourful
They are stunning & I bet they smelt as wonderful as they look!

What a wonderful display. Such beautiful roses. So glad you photographed them before the intense heat ruined their beauty. Your garden must be so beautiful! Hope you can stay cool too. It would be far too hot for me! Have a lovely weekend.

I'm sure they bought a smile on your face, love the blue background.

@chrysanthemum Thanks Christina, it's too hot for me too. Hopefully our proximity to the ocean will keep the temperature down a little. I don't think I'll be going too far away from the air conditioning over the next couple of days :)

So glad you saved them from the heat.

@onewing Me too. It's lovely to have them inside. I should pick them more often, but I love seeing the roses in the garden.

@quietpurplehaze Thanks Hazel, that one is Peace, the red is Mr Lincoln and the pale pink was a hospital charity rose, called Children's Rose.

@hermann @irene111 Thanks, the blue is our son's old bedroom. He painted it when he was at uni because he wanted something bright. I thought the roses would look good against it :)

@thresheg Thanks Graham, they smell great too :)

@gilbertwood Thanks Denise, I'm glad I thought to pick them today, because I don't think they would have survived tomorrow's heat.

You definitely saved them. That collection is almost abstract :)

The roses are beautiful! When it get hot like that where my parents live my mother would always cut some of her favorite flowers and but them in a vase in the refrigerator. Then every time you opened the door you would smile at something beautiful. One of my favorite memories from my childhood.

I'm a failure at growing roses but these are absolutely beautiful.

There is quite a strong blue colour cast on this picture! I doubt whether you did it intentionally! Look at the white balance on your software and try to remove some of the blue. Otherwise a pleasing bouquet of roses!
