Looks Can Be Deceptive_DSC0892

I have no idea what this plant is, but I wish it wasn't in my garden, because it is a real pest. It has a small bulb which multiplies at an alarming rate and I can't get rid of it. I've taken to pulling the flowers off as soon as I see them, because they seem to also produce seeds. As I was about to throw this in the bin, I thought it could make an interesting photograph.
Shortly after taking this, I took my camera to have its sensor cleaned and I may not get it back until tomorrow. I'm not enjoying being without it :(
Thank you all for you lovely comments and favs, which took yesterday's shot to PP and TP.
They are very pretty. Did you have dust on the sensor ?

It looks like some type of bulb flower, so perhaps digging them out might be the slow & excruciating answer. They make a lovely photo though

pity it's a pest as it is pretty up close!

@hermann That I did Sally. I don't think it was a good idea taking photos when we demolished, first our son's bathroom and then our laundry. I've been getting obvious dust marks in lots of my photos.

you have been invaded by onion weed...the only way to get rid of it is to dig it out and try to get ALL the little bulbs or it will keep on spreading...unfortunately it looks quite pretty and will grow in huge drifts which will overtake anywhere it can get a foothold...sorry for the bad news...get on to it quickly...we used to just dig up the whole plant to spade depth or however deep the bulbs go down to, and toss the lot...good luck... :o)

@365projectorgjenfurj Thanks Jen, I've dug bucketsful of them out, but the side bulbs are so tiny that they break off and you can't get them all.

@maree_sanderson Thanks Maree. That's pretty well what I've resorted to doing :)

Oh no Merrelyn, I know this weed all too well, we had the same problem, ending up digging out the entire garden bed, and now all fixed. Lovely photo though!

It's really very pretty and you've captured it well. I guess it's just a pretty plant in the wrong place.

The flowers are quite pretty. I would never have suspected that this was a nuisance plant. You composed the shot beautifully. Wonderful focus, too.

Very nice shot of a plant pest, though:) I'd never even heard of sensor dust six month's ago. The joys of photography:)
