Steep Point or Steyle Hock as it was named in 1697, by William de Vlamingh, is the most westerly part of the Australian mainland. The 168km trip out, much of it on a 4wd track took about three and half hours and the return trip took a little longer. After a quick exploration of the Point, we all retreated to our cars to eat lunch because it was so windy. The views and colours were beautiful, but the wind made it very difficult to keep the camera steady enough to get many shots..
