A Storm In The Distance_DSC1161

Yeah, I've caught up :)
We had hoped to spend a couple of nights in Hopetoun, but we woke to a forecast of approaching storms with possible wind gusts of 100kph. Our planned drive through the Fitzgerald National Park, couldn't happen because the road out to the park hasn't yet been rebuilt. It was washed away in the floods earlier this year. Huge sections of the road are missing.
We arrived in Hyden by early afternoon and decided to book into motel rather than set up the campers. It's a pretty little town, with lots of quirky sculptures in the main street. I loved this view across the paddocks.
Nice trees and clouds

That is a lovely view and I like the foreground trees - they really set it off. I love the lighting that storms bring.

There's something very appealing about this show Merrelyn. Such an iconic Australian scene and the light on the trees is beautiful.
