This evening my camera club had a photo shoot on a local salt lake. This is the first time I've tried photographing "models". It was a great evening, but my wish list for photography gear just got a lot longer.

I know what you mean about having a long wish list - mine is getting longer all the time as well!
I find it too much hassle to put up tripod, so take loads of slightly camera shake fuzzy pics and then remember to resort to tripod. Think not ready for more specialist stuff in my photography journey!!???
Great photo. They're good fun, model shoots. @30pics4jackiesdiamond My Pentax works with some of the triggers that members brought. You wont get TTL features, but that doesn't matter!
That's a really nice portrait. The flash or strobes with the sunset sky in the background worked out very nicely. I'm very curious to learn, if you don't mind sharing, what items made it onto your wish list.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond TTL stands for 'Through The Lens' and is a feature that allows the camera to set the flash automatically based on the ambient conditions. Pentax has TTL if you are using their own badged products, but TTL tends to be individual to brands.
@mbrutus Thank you. It's a very general wish list as I don't have any lighting gear. I'm thinking a speedlight, reflectors and some stands, but I need to do some research into lighting set ups.
