Something Spooked Them 2_DSC9684

The corella population in Rockingham has ballooned. They shred the trees in our parks, but I love watching their antics.
This flock headed to a couple of the trees in City Park and had no sooner landed and they were off again.
This flock was at least 100 strong.
I figured that at a pinch, there was enough back light on the wings to qualify for April words - back light.
Ha ha definitely spooked. We didn't have any corellas here until a few years ago when there was a massive bushfire on the other side of the bay at Myall Lakes. They moved in to get away from the fire and have never returned. Now we have thousands of them. They are fun to watch but so noisy especially in the early morning and evening.

@golftragic We have several flocks of this size in the area. As they move in the galahs and other species are pushed out. It's about time for another cull!
