Located on Fifth Avenue across the street from Rockefeller Center in Manhattan is St. Pats. The 135 year old cathedral is one of the most famous in the world. This is just a small view of the enormous and beautiful interior.
Also thank you very much for all the great comments and many favs on yesterday's city reflection in a puddle shot. It was a lot of fun to do.
One of my Favorite Shots! Love the Details and your POV! Amazing how much this place has been photographed and you still came up with an awesome angle on it!! FAV!
The interior is wonderful, I've only ever seen the outside before - dwarfed by the buildings around it, this gives a much better idea of the sheer scale of the cathedral!
@peterdegraaff - thx Peter I've taken many pics here before (typically down the center aisle) to try to capture those features but finally found this angle to show them off better. I appreciate you noticing.
@ellimae - thx so much Ellen. Like I mentioned to Peter I always taken shots down the aisle but this angular view across the pews offered something new for me and got in the pillars arches stained glass and other features. Took me long enough haha. Thx again!
How I would love to go inside this beautiful cathedral, have heard of it of course & my church which makes it special. Love the angle you have shot this to show off the wonderful blue windows !! A fave ! More please !
Wow, what a beautiful photo of St. Patrick's Cathedral. Love the detail, stained glass, arches, etc. It is so huge as I look at the people down below that look like ants. I sure hope you get to take more photos of the interior and even one or two of the exterior. One thing on my list of photos to take some day, the interiors of a few churches in our area, but nothing can beat one like this. Thank you for sharing, Michael. Enjoying seeing NYC through your eyes/photos. FAV
@wardie - Thx Paul very much. When I edited this in picmonkey I used a touch of the HDR feature which helped to bring out a bit of a 3-D look for better definition and depth.
