Another picture you have taken that I would happily have on my living room wall, :). Brilliant!

Nice b&w

Looks so "old school." Beautifully done. Where was this taken. Magnified it looks like an invasion of trash cans! You have more trash cans on that beach than there are residents in the town of Trumbull. They must sell an awful lot of 'stuff' out of that shack!!!

Happy belated Birthday Michael.... this is just superb like your shot from yesterday..... hope you had a great day yesterday, by the sound of it you did... x

Lovely textures. And great b&w.

Really excellent! Is this the new lens? Another fav I'm afraid! ;)
posted May 7th, 2012
@aspada - OMG back to back favs from Amy - hahaha thx so much! Yes it is. I really wanted it for city bldg shots but tried it out here. Shot was much wider but I cropped it back because of a nearby fence.
posted May 7th, 2012
Well now this is very Robin'esque! Which, of course, means I love it. Fav:)
posted May 7th, 2012
@pwallis - haha yes very true. I actually thought about Robin's expansive beach shots when I did this. Hey @robinwarner what's up? Thx very much Paula for the fav!
posted May 7th, 2012
@michaelelliott That made me laugh... too wide and needed a crop! Well the horizon is nice and straight so either you corrected the lens distortion in post or it has no distortion! Fabulous detail! What is your editing software these days?
posted May 7th, 2012
Wow it's absolutely wonderful. The B&W is perfect with this picture!
posted May 7th, 2012
Love the tones, fab pov.
posted May 7th, 2012
@aspada - Glad I made you laugh :) This lens is designed to take care of distortion issues so I shouldn't have to deal with it. As for processing, I've been using Picmonkey lately - its simple to use and has lots of options. But I always try to use a light touch.

I love the desolation in this shot! Amazing! Myrtle Beach is already overrun with tourists!

@hown - good point Howard that little place must to some biz! This was taken at Jones Beach on LI. So are you going to make it in for the City Meet up Sat?

posted May 7th, 2012
@sabine - thx very much I appreciate it :-)
posted May 7th, 2012
@sabine - especially in comparison to the crowded city streets - seeing this seemingly endless expanse of desolate sand was surreal.
posted May 7th, 2012
@brumbe - Thx Paula its nice to get a break. I'm getting pysched for "The Meet Up"!

@marlboromaam - oh I bet it is! Here still a bit chilly especailly at 7pm, but I was still surprised no one around (though there are an aweful lot of footprints).
posted May 7th, 2012
@brumbe - You know that the best shots (as you've seen throughout my album) are blue hour to early evening city shots when the lights sparkle and I've got some of the most amazing spots to shoot from. But it doesnt get dark until like 8-830pm. Are you going to be able to stay for that?
posted May 7th, 2012
this is fabulous Michael, sorry for a belated happy birthday ;-)

Simplicity at it's very best. Raw, gritty texture and smooth in B&W. POV is right on, ME. Peaceful ...not a person in sight. :)

Thx all very much. I really love the beach especially when everyone leaves it!!! I find the wide open expanse of never ending sand with footprints and other patterns, and of course the ocean so relaxing it eases my mind. I hope to take a lot more photos here over the summer.
posted May 9th, 2012
I agree with above "especially when everyone leaves it." :-) The lonely large expanse and the little shack...just wonderful.
posted May 9th, 2012
@michaelelliott .... Ahhhh, didn't realize you had two 365 albums going. I have hard enough time keeping up with just the one I have.
