While driving to the Hamptons this weekend we past several vineyards and stopped to take some pics. While not quite Nappa Valley, eastern Long Island's north and south forks have in recent years developed some wonderfully acclaimed wineries and vineyards.
Well look who's taking "country" photos!! Beautiful, Michael. Wicked sky and beautiful colors and pov! Did you get a sip or two at any of these places. Many of them have great "sample tasting offerings!" Hope that you relaxed and enjoyed yourself ....and ladybug too.

Love these rows of vines in the late evening light but that sky is awesome! I have been sampling English wines this weekend & am surprised how good they are too!
@aspada - thanks very much for noticing those two elements. The dusky light on the vineyard and last gasp brightness of sunset made for tricky exposure and I too I'm glad I resisted blowing out the sky - this more naturalness better for vineyard.
thanks very much. Wineries and vineyards on LI have really grown in popularity. Many beautiful ones with tasting and tours. We didn't have time as we were on way to a party but I would definitely go back over the summer for that.
I can just visualise sitting on the stoep of that winery, sampling some wine as the sun sets - perfection! I love the fact that you have detail in the vines as well as going for a great sunset - another ME winner!
@judithdeacon - Thx so much Judtih. The vineyard was actually my first element to go for and the sunset the bonus. Lighting tricky but glad it worked out. Thx again and yes how awesome to sip some wine there and watch the sun go down.

@peterdegraaff - thx Peter. You often articulate just how I feel about me own pics. Good phrase "gentle light" and I was careful not to mess with it with over saturation.
