This is my Jay Maisel inspired shot for today using the older loft buildings from his neighborhood in the foreground to frame the bigger cityscape beyond and incorporate light and color. (Best Large)
Michael it is great you have such deep colours in the foreground and such a bleached look in the buildings further away. It gives such dimension to the shot. Well done and fav.
@bdb3471 - Thx very much Brian. I only very slightly increased the color in the foreground and the bkgd was naturally sort of a faint purplish white. I've really taken to Maisel's work for finding a different look on the city.
@maggiemae - nope it is as I shot it for the most part. I only slightly increased color on the foregorund older buildings and slightly sharpened for contrast and that was it.
@aspada - thanks very much Amy. I had noticed that in some of Maisel's city scapes he has framed or layered shots like this and I thought this view would be great for it. Its really interesting that you've been going for his color shots and me his city shots. Fun stuff :)
Love the effects of your editing & processing. The buildings in grey give this picture great depth & detail. I don't know Jay Maisels work but will check it out. A fave.
@peacerebel - Thx Charlene for catching up on my photos. Yes I love that building too. Its the Municipal Building at One Centre Street. The top always reminds me of a fairy land castle.
Fabulous - love the close feel you've got for the city buildings. I'm getting all nostalgic now - I couldn't believe the Jay Maisel theme started the day I got home!!
wonderfully framed michael
